Development Laboratory

In order to achieve straight builds, reliability and assembly process repeatability, Axiam develops assembly procedures, custom tooling and software in its laboratory from engine parts that result in repeatable assembly processes with optimal builds. Optimal builds approximate the predictive software build models, typically within a centerline deviation of +/-0.000200 inches. The engine core’s dynamic structure is aligned with its static structure in the software models for improved engine quality, performance and reduced costs. Straight builds enable better management of blade-tip gaps, resulting in improved EGT Margins, SFC, Vibration and Wing Time.

Gauge System Calibration and Certification
Axiam uses its proprietary Gauge System Calibration and Certification 3D-Masters to verify system performance of the hardware and software in the laboratory. These masters are designed to check all combinations of gauge probe definitions. All software and hardware systems are checked for accuracy and repeatability. Individual probe calibrations are performed using a certified set of gauge blocks traceable to NIST. Axiam’s calibration fully complies with FAA, ANSI and Mil. Spec. standards.
